Ascent Capture Web Validation Server (ACWVS) is the distributed indexing product of the Ascent product suite. ACWVS adds internet/intranet indexing capabilities to the Ascent product suite. It extends Ascent Capture's powerful indexing and validation capabilities to anyone equipped with an internet connection and a standard web browser. ACWVS is easily added to the Ascent Capture workflow to automatically send documents to authorized remote operators for indexing and validation. Remote clients are installed and set up in a few minutes with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 and above. Web Validation Server works as though the documents presented to operators were indexed in Ascent Capture's traditional Validation module. It spreads the work across all available operators and intelligently sends and caches documents so operators experience minimal delay. As each document is completed, it is automatically sent back to the central site for subsequent processing and release, when its batch is complete. Configurable control ensures documents are never left idle when operators are on break or between shifts, and batches are closed only when all their documents are completed. Part-time workers can perform indexing operations at home, in their offices or in other time zones, because ACWVS requires only a browser and an internet connection. Software installation and administration issues, which complicate adding new or occasional users, are eliminated. After a new user is created in the Ascent Capture system, the user simply logs in securely and goes to work. The interface is simple, and operators are up and running with minimal introduction to the system. Administrators control who is authorized and what work will be presented to them. That is validation where you need it! Pricing for ACWVS is 100% server based, so there are
no client licenses and an unlimited number of people are allowed to log
in to a single server. The price of the ACWVS module is based on page
volume. Like Ascent Capture Internet Server (ACIS), this volume is the
total page number flowing through the ACWVS server, regardless of how
many client stations are connected. Images are cached in the background,
so users with a dial-up line are able to move from page to page quickly.
ACWVS is written entirely in Java, running completely on the client and
requires no downloads. Future updates are controlled completely from a
central site, so there is never a need to physically install new software
at a remote site. |
